From charges to verdict

The allegations concerned a 14-year-old former student. The prosecution’s pretrial account described alleged conduct in 2011. Those allegations were the prosecution’s position, not a verdict.

On May 29, 2014, the District Attorney announced that a jury convicted Aldana of three felony counts. The release reported a maximum possible sentence of four years and four months; that was an exposure figure, not the sentence imposed.

Reported sentencing outcome

City News Service’s October 24, 2014 report, published by Patch, stated that Aldana received a three-year prison sentence. It also reported acquittals on four other counts. This distinction matters: a charging document and a final outcome are different stages of a case.

This summary concerns historical events and does not describe a pending trial or establish Aldana’s current custody or registration status.
